Once upon a time there lived an honest woodcutter in the village. He was poor but honest. Every villager knew him a very honest person. He had a little family. He couldn't bear his family well by his short earning. As he worked everyday. One day he was going to a forest near a river. When he started to cutting trees, suddenly the axe slipped from his hand and fell into the river.
He not know swim and the river was so big. So, he had know another way accept crying. He had not enough money to buy a new axe. At the main time, a fairy came up and asked him, "Why are you crying." The woodcutter shocked to see the fairy. He shared him all the story. Then the fairy went down and came back with a golden axe and asked "Is it yours." The woodcutter said honestly that it was not his.
The fairy went back and came with a silver axe and asked him the same question. The honest woodcutter again didn't accept that it is his. The fairy feel happy on the honesty of the woodcutter. So, she went in river and came with the iron axe and gave it to woodcutter. The woodcutter feel so happy because he found his axe. The fairy prized him with the golden and silver axe. The woodcutter took it and sold in the market. He became rich. He started a business and stayed happy with his family.
Moral: Honesty is the best policy.

In a certain village, there lived a poor but exceptionally honest woodcutter. Though he was indigent, truthful and sincere, every villager respected him for his integrity. He had a small family. He could hardly maintain his family with his meagre earning, although he worked regularly every day. One day, he was proceeding towards a forest beside a river. While he was cutting trees, suddenly his axe slipped from his hand and plunged into the river. He could not swim, and the river was extremely deep. Therefore, he had no alternative but to weep helplessly. He had insufficient money to purchase another axe.
At that moment, a fairy appeared before him and asked, “Why are you crying?” The woodcutter was astonished, amazed and surprised to see the fairy. He narrated the entire incident to her. Then the fairy descended into the river and returned with a golden axe. She asked him, “Is this yours?” The woodcutter honestly replied that it was not his. The fairy went back again and returned with a silver axe. She asked him the same question. The honest woodcutter again denied that it was his.
The fairy became delighted with the woodcutter’s honesty, sincerity and integrity. So, she went into the river once more and brought his iron axe. She handed it over to the woodcutter. He became extremely happy because he had recovered his lost axe. The fairy praised his honesty and rewarded him with the golden and silver axes. The woodcutter took all the axes and sold them in the market. As a result, he became wealthy. He started a business and lived peacefully with his family. Thus, his honesty changed his life and brought happiness to his family.
Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
