Then the farmer untied the bundle and gave each son a stick. This time, they broke the sticks easily. The farmer said, “If you stay united like the bundle of sticks, nobody can harm you. If you remain separate, you will be weak.” The sons understood the lesson and stopped quarreling. They lived together happily.

Unity is Strength for SSC

Once upon a time, an old farmer lived in a village with his three sons. He loved them very much, but he was always worried because they quarreled with one another over small matters. The farmer advised them many times to live peacefully and remain united, but they paid little attention to his words. As he grew older, he became anxious about their future. He knew that if they continued fighting among themselves, they would face many problems in life.
One day, the farmer thought of a plan to teach them an important lesson. He called all his sons and asked them to bring a bundle of sticks and a rope. When they brought the sticks, he tied them tightly into a bundle. Then he asked his eldest son to break the bundle. The son tried with all his strength but failed. The second son and the youngest son also tried hard, but none of them could break it.

After that, the farmer untied the bundle and gave each son a single stick. This time, they broke the sticks very easily without any effort. The farmer then smiled and said, “My sons, you have just learned a valuable lesson. When the sticks were tied together, none of you could break them. But when they were separated, they broke easily. In the same way, if you stay united, nobody will be able to harm you. But if you remain divided and continue quarreling, your enemies will defeat you easily.”

The sons understood their father’s message. They realized their mistake and promised never to quarrel again. From that day on, they lived together in peace, helped one another in times of need, and became stronger as a family. Their father was very happy to see the change in them.

Unity is Strength for HSC

Once upon a time, there lived an old farmer in a village. He had three sons. The farmer loved them very much and worked hard to provide them with a good life. But he had one great problem. His sons were not friendly to one another. They always quarreled over small matters and often argued among themselves. Their father advised them many times to live peacefully and help one another, but they never listened to his words. This made the old farmer very unhappy and worried about their future.

As the farmer grew older, he became weaker day by day. He thought that after his death his sons would face many difficulties because they were not united. He wanted to teach them a lesson that they would remember for the rest of their lives. So, one day he made a clever plan.

He called his three sons and asked them to bring some sticks from the nearby field. The sons quickly brought a number of sticks. Then the farmer tied all the sticks together with a strong rope and made a bundle. After that, he handed the bundle to his eldest son and asked him to break it.

The eldest son tried his best. He used all his strength but could not break the bundle. Then the farmer gave it to the second son. He also tried hard but failed. Finally, the youngest son tried with all his power, but he too could not break it. None of them was able to break the bundle of sticks.

Then the old farmer untied the bundle and separated all the sticks. He gave one stick to each son and asked them to break it. This time, each son broke the stick very easily. The farmer then gave them more single sticks, and they broke all of them without any difficulty.

The old farmer smiled and said, “My dear sons, now you can understand the lesson. When the sticks were tied together, none of you could break them. But when the sticks were separated, you broke them easily. In the same way, if you remain united and help one another, nobody will be able to harm you. You will be strong and successful. But if you quarrel and stay divided, your enemies will defeat you easily and create problems in your lives.”

The sons understood the importance of their father's advice. They realized their mistake and felt ashamed of their behavior. They promised their father that they would never quarrel again and would always stay united. From that day onward, they lived together happily, worked together, and helped one another in every situation.

The old farmer became very happy to see the change in his sons. They remained united throughout their lives and earned respect from everyone in the village. Their unity made them stronger, happier, and more successful.

Moral: United we stand, divided we fall.
Or, Unity is Strength.
